Suicide, Addictions, & Violence Prevention

EDC builds capacity to improve prevention services and promote wellness. Our efforts rely on data-driven strategies, continuous improvement, and prevention science to create lasting change in the lives of individuals and communities.

For decades, we have led efforts to prepare the behavioral health workforce with innovative training. Partnering with community leaders, practitioners, and individuals with lived experience, we integrate training, health communication strategies, and digital tools to address urgent behavioral health challenges and make critical information accessible.

Grounded in trauma-informed care, our work improves the quality of services across the U.S. and around the world. Through initiatives like Zero Suicide Institute, PTSD Treatment Decision Aid, Behavioral Health Workforce Implementation Support and Education Center, the Digital Wellness Collaborative, Strategic Prevention Technical Assistance Center,  the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention, and Safeguard Veterans, we prevent harm and transform behavioral health outcomes. We also address emerging issues such as problem gambling and co-occurring challenges with substance misuse and mental health.
